These nanocomposites contain very small particles with an average size of 5~50 nm.  With 40~65% silica content, there is no loss in clarity and the increase in viscosity is extremely little.  Lower CTE and improvements in toughess, hardness and abrasion resistance can be attained by using these materials in polymer systems.
